Bill Duncan VIEW PROFILE

Winston-Salem - William Henry Duncan III, 53, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away on July 24, 2011. Bill was born September 9, 1957, in Greensboro, NC, to William H. Duncan and Ruby W. Duncan. He graduated from Catawba College in 1979 and was the Vice President for Financial Affairs at High Point University. Bill was an active member of Home Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, where he loved playing the tuba in the Moravian Band. Bill was a passionate member of the Moravian Lower Brass, and also played in the Easter Sunrise Service for 27 years. He took great joy in constructing and hosting the Salem Scene at Candle Tea every Christmas. He also volunteered as a MerleFest stagehand for the last 12 years. Bill was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Wanda Suttle Duncan, his daughter, Alison, his son, Will, his sisters, Diana D. Walker and Nancy D. Wall, and his mother.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at Home Moravian Church with Rev. Doug Kearney officiating. Burial will follow in God’s Acre . The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. Friday, July 29, at Salem Funeral Home on South Main Street and following the graveside service at Home Moravian Church.
