What a dear friend John was to all. I think about Robin and her family often - and know that John lives on in their hearts, as well as ours.Bob Reagan
John was a Wachovian thru and thru, and he was always upbeat. He was nice to everyone he knew, and it's such a shame he's no longer with us. I never heard anyone said a bad word about John, and he was an excellent banker.Bob Reagan

I corresponded with John by email during 2002 while he was undergoing chemotherapy. John always cared more about others than he did about himself. His faith and his family were dearest of all to him. He lived life to its fullest, without regret. When John was so weak he could not write, his wonderful wife made sure the many people following his condition were kept informed. John was one of those rare individuals that drew people to him like a magnet. I will never forget John because he embodied all that was great about Wachovia: integrity, character, strength, quiet assurance, dedication...all packaged together in a person of selfless humility.Nelson Ould
John was a real friend to me, when I was a young guy in National Banking. John led the Bible study I sometimes attended.
