Adelaide (Brewer) Carter, 82, of Eustis, formerly of Kernersville, NC, transitioned to eternity on November 1, 2024. She was born in Rowan County, NC to the late Clement A. and Virgie (Foote) Brewer and received her formal education in the public schools of Rowan County where she graduated from Aggrey Memorial High School. She went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree from Winston Salem Teachers College, which is now Winston Salem State University and was employed at Wachovia Bank and Trust for 37 years until her retirement.
She was an active parishioner of the United Metropolitan Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for many decades as a member of the Senior choir and numerous other organizations. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening and watching Kobe Bryant play for her favorite basketball team, the LA Lakers. Adelaide will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity and helping others in need.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Robert Carter, Jjr., and his wife Stephanie; her grandchildren, Evelyn and Robert Carter III; her brother, Clement Brewer, and numerous family and invaluable lifetime friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert H Carter, Sr.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 10am at the United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, 450 Metropolitan Drive, Winston Salem. Final committal services are private.
