Lynn Golden

 Jan. 15, 1950 - Jan. 30, 2018

01/15/1950 - 01/30/2018 Surrounded by family and friends, Linda Cockerham Golden, affectionately known as Lynn, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. She was born on January 15, 1950, in Brooklyn, NY. She spent her early years in New York receiving her secondary and post- secondary education in Brooklyn before moving to North Carolina in 1968. On May 26, 1973, she married Herbert Lee Golden. Lynn enjoyed a very rewarding career as a mortgage underwriter and loan officer, helping countless families realize their home ownership dreams. Her most treasured time was spent with her family and friends with whom she shared a mutual love for traveling, various church activities and entertainment news. She attended Goler Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church where she was involved in multiple ministries. All who were blessed to know her will remember her spunky spirit and her "straight shooting" attitude. Mrs. Golden was preceded in death by her loving mother, Annabell Cockerham; and her husband of 25 years, Herbert Lee Golden. Surviving is a devoted daughter, Sheri (Gary) Golden-Perry; treasured twin grandsons, Jayden Alexander Lee Perry and Jordan Avery Lee Perry; a dedicated sister, Jacqueline Wilkins; step-daughter, Valerie (Victor) Rucker; a special cousin, Gloria (Harvey) Jeffries; lifelong friends, Starling "Coffee" (Bernard Sr.) Williams, Gwendolyn "Tootie" (William) Cofield, Denise Alston, Elmira Hairston; and a host of special cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 3:30pm Sat., Feb. 3, at Goler Memorial AME Zion Church . Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held 1 hour before the celebration of life at the church.
