James (Jim) Franklin Carlisle, Sr., age 77, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Saturday, September 15, 2012. He was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Howard and Virginia Carlisle.
He is preceded in death by one brother, Tom. Mr. Carlisle is survived by his wife Martha P. (Marty) Carlisle, daughter Lorie Kayler (Claude), Fairview, North Carolina and son James F. Carlisle, Jr. (Kim), Alexandria, Virginia, grandchildren David Carlisle Kayler (Lauren), Mary Kayler, and Grace, James and John Carlisle.
Jim graduated from UNC Chapel Hill and retired from Wachovia Bank. He loved to travel with his wife, carve ducks, catch a fish, suffer on the golf course, and make his grandchildren and friends laugh. He was an active member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church.
A service celebrating his life will be held Tuesday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Maple Springs United Methodist Church followed by a reception.
