Mr. Lyerly and I became acquainted on my 1st or 2nd day of having joined Wachovia back in '74. I was now in the business world - a young (19) adult - and I thought I could address all my new Wachovia friends by their first name. So I called Mr. Lyerly Bill - and would greet him as such those first few occasions I would cross his path. One of the more seasoned secretaries in POC pulled me aside and told me he was to be referred to as Mr Lyerly......I was a gutsy kind of gal, and even told him that I had been reprimanded. I think he thought I was 'spunky' -- and we became fast friends. I think of him each year when his March 24 birthday arrives
