I am devastated by the loss of one of my dearest and closest friends, Jackie Kiser, but happy that we had so many, many wonderful memories which I will cherish for the rest of my time on this earth.Jackie and I go back so many years in the Piedmont Operations Center Research and Adjustments area. We were the first two research clerks to start the "Branch Services" research pilot program (I believe it was 1981 or 1982)with our "24 hour turn around" on research problems....of course, we were hired at Wachovia several years before that. One week I would man the phone in Branch Services and she would do the research, and the next week I would do the research and she would man the phone. We loved it. In fact, we had said many times we wished we were back in Operations again, working on those research problems we really enjoyed doing.
Perhaps our greatest Halloween shenanigans we ever did at Wachovia was "Hartsema's Hitmen". Jackie came up with the idea, and I ran with it from there. With the help of then CEO John Medlin(mine and Jackie's favorite CEO in both our Wachovia careers),the Research and Adjustments "gang" was able to spoof our center manager, Doug Hartsema...complete with a rap song, video, limousine ride and so many more enjoyable moments. When I need a good laugh or cheering up, I play the video we took that day. It is always gaurenteed to generate a smile and a laugh. I still share that story with people...it is just too good not to.
I encourage everyone to share your stories or friendships with Jackie so that others may see what a truly wonderful person she was. I will miss my dear friend terribly.
