Pauline Elizabeth Young Hedgecock

June 11, 1938 - January 15, 2012

Kernersville-Pauline Elizabeth Young Hedgecock, 73, passed away January 15, 2012.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Cash officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Burgess and Paul Franklin Young. She graduated from Walkertown High School Class of 1956. She retired from Wachovia Bank following 30 plus years of service, and was Vice-President of Equity Trading upon her retirement.

She was a faithful member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church and also a member of the Manuel Sunday School Class. She thoroughly enjoyed her role as mom and grandmother.

Survivors include her loving husband of almost 54 years William “Bill” Hedgecock of the home; daughters Pam Martin and Tom of Kernersville, Paula Walker and Darrell of Kernersville, Patricia Joyner and Keith of Charlotte, Phyllis Lanier and Vance of Kernersville; grandchildren Zackary Joyner, Taylor Walker, Blake Lanier, Brent Joyner, Wesley Joyner, Rachel Lanier, Makenzie Walker, and Garrett Walker; sisters Margaret Fulton and Herman of Kernersville, Sue Summers and Dwight of Cleveland, TN, and Esther Whitley and Gibson of Kill Devil Hills; several nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with friends from 6-8pm Tuesday evening at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home.

Pam Hartigan

Pauline was wonderful to work with and a terrific role model.  Her smile and warmth will be missed.

I hadn't seen Pauline in a couple of years, but as always, and how I will always remember her, she was smiling.  Always a warm and loving person.  I enjoyed the years I worked with her in Trust Invesments/Asset Management.
