OAK ISLAND Jan. 21, 1945 - March 9, 2019 Vance Venters, 74, of Oak Island passed away on Saturday, March 9th, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Vance was born on January 21st, 1945, to Elizabeth and Leon Venters. He spent his childhood at his family home in Trenton, North Carolina. He enjoyed spending time on the water with his father at an early age and chose to retire at the beach, with his loving wife, Judy.

Vance is survived by his wife of 50 plus years, Judy, and his two sons, Brad and Trent, daughter-in-law Julia, his brother Steve and wife Dorothy, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Leon, and his sister Anne J. Adebahr.

Vance attended East Carolina University, and worked for Wachovia Bank for over 35 years. Working at the bank had Vance, and his wife Judy, moving several times throughout North Carolina. No matter how busy his working life was, he always made time to attend all of his sons' sporting events.
