Dohn Kivett

KIVETT LEWISVILLE - Mr. Dohn Kivett 71, long time resident of Lewisville, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after his 6 year battle with cancer. Mr. Kivett was the most loving husband, father and grandfather ever. He was born in Guilford County on September 14, 1938 to the late Rigdon and Thelma King Kivett. Dohn served in the U.S. Air Force before attending NC State University in Raleigh. He worked for Wachovia for 20 years before retiring, he then went to work for Piedmont Airlines / US Air where he later retired. Dohn enjoyed playing golf with his friends, taking his boat out fishing at the coast, and being very active with his four grandchildren. They are what kept him fighting the last 6 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Regina Winfree Kivett; two children, David Kivett (Tanya) of Lewisville, Karen Kivett Jackson of Yadkinville, four grandchildren, Haley Alegre and Connor Cardwell of Yadkinville, Casey and Grayson Kivett of Lewisville, and a brother, Walter Eric Kivett of Lexington. The family wants to give a special thanks to Dr. Michael Garrison and Dr. Judith Hopkins. The Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 7 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 8 at Lewisville Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Keith Bingham and the Rev. Neill Shaw. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
