MILLERS CREEK Dolores Johnson Broyhill Greer Dec. 16, 1945- Oct. 29, 2012 Mrs. Dolores Johnson Broyhill Greer, age 66, of Millers Creek died Monday, October 29, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Friday 2:00, November 2, 2012 at Greater Vision Baptist Church with Rev. Lyn Lambert and Rev. Jim Gore officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30 until 8 at Greater Vision Baptist Church. Mrs. Greer was born December 16, 1945 in Wilkes County to Joseph Scever and Viola Faw Johnson. She attended Appalachian State University. She was a retired vice president from Wachovia Bank. Mrs. Greer was very active with the Brushy Mountain Baptist Association where she served on the WMU Leadership Team for a number of years. She also served as WMU Director in 2009 and 2010. Mrs. Greer was an active member of Greater Vision Baptist Church. She was a member of the board of directors of the Baptist State Convention. Mrs. Greer volunteered at the Wilkes Ministry of H.O.P.E. and was active in mission trips to West Virginia and Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Spencer Broyhill and a brother, Ray Johnson. She is survived by: her husband, George Wayne Greer of the home; one daughter, Stephanie Broyhill of Casar, NC; two grandchildren, Seth Osborne and Paige Osborne both of Casar, NC; one stepson, Alan Greer and wife Amanda of Clemmons, NC; two step grandchildren, Lauren Greer and Connor Greer of Clemmons, NC; one sister, Debbie Lambert and husband Rev. Lyn Lambert of Wilkesboro and one brother, Tony Johnson and wife Shirley of Lenoir.
