Lois Murphy Warfel, 71, of Winston-Salem died January 15, 2007. She was born June 8, 1935, in Galax, Va., to Edward C. and Mallie J. Murphy. She was a resident of Toledo, Ohio for many years before returning to Winston-Salem in 1986.

Lois worked for Owens-Illinois in Ohio and retired from Wachovia Mortgage in Winston-Salem. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Ralph Murphy and Ray Jackson Murphy; and her sisters, Virtue Tyner, Edna Robinson and Euna Lee Ward.
Surviving are a daughter, Amy W. Cornelius and husband Charles of Clemmons; a son, Clark E. Warfel and wife Jennifer of Northwood, Ohio; two grandchildren, Wade Lucas Cornelius of Clemmons and Nathaniel Martin Warfel of Northwood, Ohio; her sisters, Margaret Weatherman of Cedartown, Ga., Doris Barrow and husband Bill of Winston-Salem, and Charlotte Rosebrook and husband Jim of Athens Ga.; her brothers, Rex Murphy and wife Dewilla of Clemmons and Robert Murphy and wife Carol of Sparta; and many nieces and nephews.
