KERNERSVILLE -- Mrs. Zita Barbara Peuffer Banks, 73, of 5321 Prince Charles Drive died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at her home. Mrs. Banks was born Dec. 12, 1926, in Buchold, Germany, a daughter of the late Joseph and Betty Schmitt Peuffer. She was retired as a vice president of international affairs at Wachovia Bank and had served as secretary of Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church. Surviving are her husband, William Joseph Banks Jr. of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Irene B. and Roger Tise of Winston-Salem and Barbara B. and Lee Evins of Kennesaw, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Vernon Joseph and Beth Banks of Kernersville; two sisters, Irene Shubert and Alma Jorb of Germany; a brother, Walter Peuffer of Germany; six grandchildren, Angela Tise Sampson, Roger F. Tise II, Joseph Lee Evins, Ryan Joseph Banks, Melinda Joy Banks and Melissa Ann Banks; and a great-grandson, Edward Andrew Sampson.
