Mrs. Verna Ketner Reed, 82, of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015. She was born December 10, 1932 in Forsyth County to Nathaniel and Delia Ketner. Mrs. Reed retired from Wachovia Bank after 44 years of service.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Hutchens and Frances Swaim and five brothers, Glenn M. Ketner, Claude Ketner, Bill Ketner, Herman Ketner and Odell Ketner. Surviving are her husband of 63 years, David Lee Reed; one daughter, Sandra R. Hazelwood (Keith)… of Arcadia; one son, Scott D. Reed (Stacey) of Advance; two grandchildren, Katie and Brianna Reed and a sister-in-law, Edith Ketner.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
