IN MEMORY

Doug Wall

Doug Wall

Douglas D. Wall, 56, of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on March 5, 2016. He was the loving son of Gilly W. Wall and the late Tommy A. Wall. He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Debbie Wall, and two children: Eryn King (Patrick) and Tyler Wall. He is also survived by his brother, Gifford Trent Wall, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Doug was a native of Elkin, North Carolina. A life-long Tarheel fan, he graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1981, and from the Wake Forest University Babcock Graduate School of Management in 1993. He worked as a Senior Vice President for Wachovia Bank in Winston-Salem, North Carolina before moving to Richmond, Virginia where he would work as a corporate executive specializing in credit risk management, strategic planning, and financial analysis for many years. Through his work and in his personal life, Doug most enjoyed developing and coaching others to reach their life's goals and potential. He had a brilliant mind and appreciated any opportunity to share and listen to anecdotes with family and friends. Doug's generous and deeply caring heart touched all who knew him. May our lives be an honor to his eternal memory.

A memorial service will take place at Elkin Funeral Service, located at 560 NC Highway 268 W in Elkin, North Carolina, on Saturday, March 12, at 11am. A celebration of life will take place in Richmond, Va at a future date.

Debbie, I am so sorry to hear about Doug.  I knew his mother and him from elementary school in Wilkes County - she was our school secretary.  May God bring peace to you and all of your family during this time.

Debbie, I am shocked to read about Doug's passing.  I just got back on the Old Gang site and when I read this my heart sank!  What a great guy and I am so glad I got to see him in Richmond (by chance) several years ago!  Please take care.  Martin
