Shirley Myers Long, passed away on July 5, 2017 in Winston-Salem. She was a cum laude graduate of Catawba College and worked for 10 years at Wachovia in the Marketing Division. She was a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church, the Friendship Class, and Joy Service Fellowship Group. She was active in several charities and was Chair of the 1997 Crop Walk and the Winston-Salem Soup Kitchen. Shirley dedicated her life to family and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Hal Richard Myers and Inez Couch Myers; husband Robert (Bob) W. Long, Jr., and niece Elizabeth Ann Worden. She is survived by her sisters Kay M. Tillotson, Carolyn M. Worden and Geraldine M. Styers (Jerry); nieces Hope T. McMullan, Lynn S. Gilbert, Emily S. Moore, and nephew Stephen R. Tillotson, and several great nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23 at Clemmons United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. There will also be a private inurnment at Clemmons United Methodist Church.
