
CLEMMONS Nov.12, 1949 - Sept.13, 2017 Soheir "Sue" George Gendy, 67, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September, 13th, 2017 in her home in Clemmons with her son and sister-in-law by her side. She was born in Egypt, November 12, 1949, to the late Georges and Juliette Bastawrous of Cairo, Egypt. She attended Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. In 1970, she immigrated to the USA with her husband. Sue worked as a French teacher, a Brendle's Sales Representative, at Wachovia National Bank and the Division of Motor Vehicles. Sue will be remembered as a kind and faithful woman, loving mother, doting grandmother, and dependable friend. Sue was the type of person who would always put people ahead of herself. Anywhere she would go, she would always make new friends. When Sue was not spending time with her family and friends, she dedicated her time serving as a volunteer with Holy Family Catholic Church, Hospice and the Shepherd Center of Winston-Salem. She is survived by her son, Peter Gendy (daughter-in-law, Sarah) and two beloved grandchildren, Claire and Grant Gendy; her siblings Samir Bastawrous and wife, Sizette, of Cairo, Egypt, Susan Habib of Sydney, Australia, Selim Habib and wife, Sophie, of Sydney, Australia, Cecile Fares of Sydney, Australia, and Sameh Bastawrous and wife, Liliane, of Sydney, Australia. Soheir is survived by several nephews, nieces, and cousins in the USA, Australia, and Egypt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Moheb "Moe" Gendy, her daughter, Laura Gendy, and grandbaby, Jana Gendy. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 19th, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Clemmons with Father Peter Nouck officiating. Burial will follow in the Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, September 18th at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
