Barry Grogan Obituary

Barry Grogan, age 75 of Pilot Mountain, passed away on April 8, 2024 at Forsyth Medical Center.  He was born on January 30, 1949 in Surry County to the late James Carl & Reba Magdalene Grogan.

Barry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.  After his military service, he dedicated many years to his career at Wachovia Bank.

Barry was a loving husband, father & grandfather.  When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he enjoyed playing golf, listening to beach music & watching his Carolina Tarheels. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Shirley Scott Grogan; his daughter, Ashley Grogan (Brian) Howard; his cherished grandchildren, Don Wayne Howard & Reigny Reid Howard; his two brothers, Merle Lee (Emily) Grogan & Richard (DD) Grogan; as well as his nieces, Josie & Casey Grogan; his aunt, Clara (Flake) Adkins & his uncle, Ronald (Ruth) Gordon.

Barry will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A funeral service for Mr. Grogan will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, April 20th at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Pilot Mountain Rescue & EMS & Mountain Valley Hospice.
