
Susie Gibson Flynt went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 29, 2021 after a long, resilient battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on December 20, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Nathan and Thelma Handy Gibson. Susie worked for over 25 years as a mortgage processor for Wachovia/Wells Fargo.
Susie was a devoted Christian. Her love of Jesus Christ shone through in her generosity and determination. She was a member of North Point Baptist Church.
Her most cherished time was spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Susie was a loyal friend. Her faithfulness and bighertedness will be missed by all her knew her.
Susie was preceded in death by her beloved husbnd, William Edward Flynt. She leaves behind her daughters, Pamela McCollum, Beth Flynt, and Lynn Wild; grandchildren Andrew McCollu, Lindsay Beth (Jordan) Spainhour, Emily Wild, Hannah Wild, Benjamin Flynt, and Jacob Flynt; great grandchildren Susie, William, and Leila Spainhour; very devoted cousin and friend Jim (Ann) Lowe; dog and companion, Tyson; and many other cousins and dear friends.
The family would like to recognize Susie's physicians, Dr. Anthony Kummer, Dr. Charles Pippitt, Dr. Samuel Lentz, Dr. Bayard Powell, Laura Welsh, PA, and the nurses and staff at Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center. They would also like to thank Touched by Angel and Senior Services for their services and compassionate and kind staff members.
The funeral service will be held at Vogler Funeral & Cremations at Forsyth Memorial Park on Monday, Aug. 2 officiate by Pastor Skip Furrow. The family will receive friends at 11:30am and the service will follow at noon. Social distancing and masks will be required.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Susie's honor to North Point Baptist Church.

Susie was a wonderful friend and she is going to be missed by all that knew her. I met her in the 70s while working for Wachovia Mortgage and we have stayed friends since that time. She had a dry sense of humor and could always make me laugh even during the worst of times. I'm going to miss my dear friend.........
