Bill was a fine individual and a True Blue Wachovian. He provided me with my first opportunity at Wachovia in 1978 and we remained friends ever since. Bill will be missed by all who knew him and especially by his family, who he dearly loved.

So sad to learn of the passing of Bill Langley. We worked very closely together at Wachovia, where he was the General Auditor. Bill was an outstanding professional who cared deeply about others. His smile and warm countenance brightened the day for all with whom he came in contact. He was truly a "Good Man" in every sense of the world, He made us all better.
Love and condolences to Doris and His Family. Rest in gentle peace my friend.

My condolences to Bill's family and many friends. During my years with Wachovia, Bill, as General Auditor, was a valued friend, advisor, and colleague. We shared the same views about the importance of internal controls and safeguarding of confidential information. He had the rare gift of executing his duties through a business point of view and it was a pleasure to work with him. I know he will be missed.

As General Auditor, Bill and the teams he led were so important to maintaining Wachovia’s rock solid reputation for integrity and honesty. I was always impressed by his dedication to that mission, keen intellect, his soft spoken manner and his genuine concern for the wellbeing of his fellow Wachovians. His smile was infectious. As others said, he was a genuinely good man who exemplified what it meant to be a Wachovian.

Bill was among the first people that I met on the Wachovia side of the house as I was assimilated into the combined organization back in 1986. He epitomized the values and virtues of the company and I felt honored to be on the same team with him. I am saddened to learn of his passing and the health issues leading up to it. my best wishes to go his family.

Wonderful man and not enough good words to describe him. I agree with all the previous posts about him and add a simple word "comfortabble",.Hard to explain what I mean by that other than to say, when you were around him for whatever reason, he always made you feel "comfortable".
