I worked fairly closely with Sterling during my time at Wachovia, especially the last fifteen or so years as we were finalizing leases and closing purchases and sales of property and buildings. Whenver I needed his help he found the time to meet and go through the details of the transaction. He had a thorough knowledge of real estate law and the permitting and approval process. I, and the others in the Property Management Department relied on him regularly for final review before closings. I talked with Sterling only a few times since he and I retired and he moved to Charlotte but I am still sorry to hear of his passing.- I considered him a good friend.    Gary.

Sterling was my go-to guy for legal advice on many liability and insurance-related matters when I was in the Financial Control Department. He was very knowledgable and always brought a positive and  upbeat approach to resolving complicated issues. He had a quick wit and subtle humor that made dealing with dry and vexing legal matters less of an ordeal for me. So sorry to hear he is no longer with us.

Sterling was a really great guy, cheerful, competent and fun to be around.

We shared quips as we would pass in the hall or on the elevetor.

I really enjyed working with him and being in his presence.

This is sad news. Sterling was a friend and occasional lunch buddy at a good Chinese restaurant in W-S. I admired his quick resolution of the sometimes quirky payroll legal issues I encountered and appreciated his help. His wit and cheerfulness brightened the dullest workday. My prayers are with his family.

Sterling had a marvelous way to combine serious business discussions with fun. He was a true friend, along with an excellent mentor. His love for family knew no bounds. He is missed.
