John and I grew up together in West Salem and went to Granville Elementary School. We lost touch when we each went to different high schools. I moved from West Salem,  but I would see him occassionally. We connected again when I was working at Wachovia when I saw him one day in the hall. We kept up with each others birthdays. His was close to mine. We were good friends growing up and when I saw him again  it was like we had not not been apart during all those years. I was so pleased to hear that he had gotten married. I talked to him and he was very happy with his new family. Thanks for making him happy. I will miss him.

John and I worked together in Operations/Data Processing. I remember meeting him and thinking he seemed to be a special person. As we progressed over the years, I never knew a time when he was not happy and a pleasure to be in his company. He certainly was very competent and had a strong work ethic.

After I retired, we connected at the 3AM Moravian Easter Sunrise breakfast in Old Salem. He was playing in the band and I was part of a group serving breakfast to the band members.. Again I said to myself.. what a pleasant, special person.; He went out to play in the band and I cleaned tables, washed dishes and ushered as our contibutions to the service .

John is now in the Big Band tooting awaysmiley

"The Lord has Risen" ...  and welcomed John to the Big Band.
