Reba Edwards

Reba Fincher Edwards, 80, a longtime resident of the Winston-Salem area, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Reba was born on October 27, 1937 in Bethlehem, NC to Milburn and Emma Fincher. She grew up in Kannapolis and graduated from A.L. Brown High School and Catawba College in Salisbury. After college, she began a dedicated career at Wachovia Bank (where she met her husband, Bill) and retired with 20 years of service.

Reba enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading
and sewing. She is remembered with deep love and admiration by those who knew her best.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her older sister, Carolyn.

She is survived by her husband of 34 years, William “Bill” C. Edwards, Jr. of Winston-Salem; her daughters, Katherine “Kelly” Paulson (Kirk) of Mason City, IA and Carolyn “Carrie” White of Winston-Salem; and two granddaughters, Peyton and Avery Paulson who brought great joy to her in later years.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. The family will speak and share memories at 4:30 PM during the gathering.

To honor Reba’s love of animals, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forsyth Humane Society: 4881 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
