I knew Pat most of my career at Wachovia. While not working directly in his department, he and I coordinated on a number of projects and I got to know him quite well, and always enjoyed our time together. I visited him a few times when he lived on Kirklees and was always amazed at his collection of North Carolina ducks mounted and on display in his den. Pat was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, and I thoroughly enjoyed out time together. While Pat was a no-nonsense manager, I always found him fair-minded and always seemed to have the employee's best interest at heart. I remember his smile as we would meet, usually in the hallway of the old East building, he always called me 'Trapp'. 'J Pat' was a good friend. I will miss seeing and talking with him......GT
I really enjoyed being around Pat. He was funny and serious when he needed to be. Early in our joint careers we called on several correspondent banks together and enjoyed our chats as we drove to and fro W-S. Pat was part of Bob Edwards breakfast group pre-covid at Dukes Restaurant and always had a tale or two to share with the table. He will be missed.
