Chris was a great friend and coworker.  At work, he was loyal, super knowledgeable, respectful, friendly, kind, always willing to share his knowledge, and always wore a smile.  Chris, you will be missed by all you have touched in this life.........

I newver saw him without a grin.  Even when things got tense he kept cool and grinned.

I worked with Chris for several years in the '70's. He was a good Wachovian, always did his best and worked hard. You could always count on Chris for good ideas and a sunny disposition. His co-workers liked and respected him. He always had a good joke to tell and I never talked to him that he didn't leave me with a smile. His work in computer operations was the same. He could always handle a special need willingly and quickly and expertly. My prayers are with his family and Linda.

Chris was definitely one-of-a-kind. While I was in OPS Chris and I worked on different shifts but we still had occasion to interact. Everything said on these boards about Chris are all true but I can't help thinking, it only scratches the surface. After I moved on to Trust Ops and Telecomm we still chatted and he was the same Chris every time. Rest easy Chris as you are surely missed by all.

When Chris and I were working together, he was doing Automated Operations work.  He had a vast experience in IT Operations.  I was responsible for IT Storage Management.  Chris always arrived early.  One morning he came by my office to inform me that one of the disk drives was going bad.  He had walked through the computer room as he normally did as a routine, because he cared, and he heard the abnormal sound of the disk.  One of our team ran diagnositcs on the drive and confirmed the situation.  We reallocated the work to a new disk and avoided an outage for those customers/applications.

This is just one example that really tells the story of who he was, always caring and going the extra step to make things go as best they could.  I really enjoyed working with Chris and generally just being around him.

I'm saddened by his passing.
