Ralph Strayhorn was always a leader in everything in which he was engaged. He was student -athlete at Chapel Hill, where he was captain of the football team, served in the armed forces defending his country in World War II, was a member of the North Carolina legislature, served as President of the NC Bar, and enjoyed a distinguished legal and business career. He epitomized that which is best in the Citizen-lawyer.

As General Counsel of Wachovia he was a respected and admired ambassador for our company.

An ancient Greek scholar defined "Happiness" as "the exercise of vital powers, along lines of excellence, in a life affording them scope."

Rest well Happy Warrior.  Thank  you for your friendship to all and your contributions to the Wachovia Family.

On Ralph's first day at Wachovia we worked all day and night on the sale of part of Wachovia Services to Anacomp. Ralph said " I thought this job might be easier than it turned out to be".   :)

A great person and fun to work with. Yes, he was a "tuue Wachovian" in all ways.
